Disability Rights South Carolina is Seeing a Dramatic Improvement with LegalServer
With a core mission of protecting and advancing the legal, civil and human rights of people with disabilities, Disability Rights South Carolina (DRSC) depends highly on case management software to help those in need. Prior to LegalServer, not having a system with personalized features was incredibly frustrating.

The positive transformation began with the LegalServer Onboarding and training process, which helped equip DRSC with knowledge to independently manage their LegalServer environment. “What I have found most helpful in LegalServer is the flexibility to edit and build out various forms without needing outside assistance,” says Amber Alexander, Operations Coordinator. “Knowing that we can continue to fine-tune and improve the system ourselves is a huge relief. Our data needs change over time, and having the ability to add fields and configure branch logic on our own has made those changes much easier to navigate.”

Another major challenge in the prior system was the lack of organization around the different matter types and projects categorized according to mandatory federal reporting requirements. According to Amber, “Prior to LegalServer we were forced to lump everything into one area and manually sort it out when it came time for annual reports. In LegalServer, we are able to build out distinct project types, allowing us to organize our work in a way that is clear internally and far more efficient when pulling PPR data points.”
Reporting in general with the prior case management system was a significant issue with data that was not always accurate. Untangling data discrepancies used to be extremely frustrating and time-consuming. Now successfully utilizing LegalServer, Amber says, “We are able to build our own reports that are reliable and help us understand the data so much better. That trust in our data has saved us a tremendous amount of time and stress, especially at the end of the fiscal year. We’re excited for what LegalServer can provide us with improving caseload supervision and overall oversight.”
